Forests come in all kinds of age and forms. For a rain forest it can be like this: Pioneer forest is about 3 years, early succession or a young forest that still is in development is about 15-20 years, late succession or late in the development is 100-150 years. Mature forest is about 300 years old, and the trees are up too 55 meters high.(Cox & Moore 2002) If you look on how fast the rain forest is cut down now, and then know it take from 100 to 300 years before that forest will back to the stage before it was cut. Not counting all other types of life that only lives in that part. Some pine trees can be over 5000 years old.
